Lasell University’s fashion program is one of the institution's highlights. The School of Fashion is made up of three majors: fashion design and production, fashion merchandising and management, and fashion media and marketing. Together, these three majors collaborate to plan and execute the annual RUNWAY Fashion Show every spring semester.

Every year, the seniors of both the fashion merchandising and management and fashion media and marketing majors participate in FASH308: Fashion Event Production and work alongside Professor Kristin Kinsky to hammer down and smooth out the details of the RUNWAY show. Through this process, a team of executives are selected to lead the operations of RUNWAY. Alongside the executive team, the other students in the course are assigned positions for the show including promotion, dressing, modeling, managing tickets and much more. Together, all of the students support and collaborate with one another to produce a huge team effort that is the annual RUNWAY show.

This year, there are six seniors taking the lead on different facets of Lasell’s highly regarded fashion show.

Senior fashion media and marketing major Nicole Reusch holds the position of Student Director. This role comes as a full circle experience for Reusch, who said, “Modeling in the show during my freshman year was not only fun but allowed me to see everything that went on backstage. It made me realize I wanted to do a lot during my senior year within the RUNWAY show.”

Through this position, Reusch will work directly beside Professor Kinsky as the student lead for production supervision and as the manager of the student executive team.

Alongside Reusch are two Co-Production Assistants who oversee different areas for both Pre-Show and Show production.

Kim Nguyen, a senior fashion media and marketing major, holds one of the Co-Production Assistant positions. She works directly with Professor Kinsky and Reusch to support her own team within the RUNWAY staff. Nguyen supports designed leads and teams on behind-the-scenes work such as promotions and photography. Within this role, Nguyen also supports the social media team and their lead for RUNWAY. When asked about her favorite memories through the School of Fashion, Nguyen shared about studio1851.

“Working at studio1851 was truly a stepping stone for me, as I got to meet so many different people within the School of Fashion and got to work closely with such an amazing team,” Nguyen said.

Madalyn Scully, a senior fashion merchandising and management major with a minor in event management, is the other Co-Production Assistant for RUNWAY. Scully also reports to both

Professor Kinsky and Reusch alongside overseeing her own team within the RUNWAY staff as well. Scully supports more of the day-of-show operations, such as hair and makeup, and production elements such as cueing and commentating. The role of Co-Production Assistant comes to Scully following her participation in her own major’s capstone project.

“Through our Capstone, we were partnered with Reebok to create a rebrand and redo a couple of their marketing initiatives and product lines,” Scully said.

Closing out the Production umbrella of the RUNWAY executives is their Production Coordinator.

Gabriele Cotrim, a senior fashion media and marketing major is the Production Coordinator for RUNWAY 2025. In the role of Production Coordinator, Cotrim works directly with Professor Kinsky, Reusch, Nguyen and Scully to assist in the main production factors of the fashion show. In her role specifically, Cotrim is responsible for supporting the model managers and providing general support to the rest of the executive team.

Additionally, the RUNWAY show has both a Front of House Manager and a Back of House Manager.

Aly MacSweeney, a senior fashion merchandising and management major, holds the role of Front of House Manager. Through the role, MacSweeney supports the team for the Front of House of the fashion show and oversees the ticketing and hosting duties of the RUNWAY staff.

Spencer Villinski, a senior fashion merchandising and management major, is the Back of House Manager. In the role, Villinski facilitates backstage operations along with scene management. Through his role, Villinski will support a team in the Back of House for the show to ensure success of the goals of the RUNWAY production staff.

The team of senior executives and the rest of the participants in FASH308 are eager and excited to produce the reputable RUNWAY show. The Undergraduate Designer Show will take place on April 25 with the Senior Designer show taking place on April 26. Both shows will take place in the Athletic Center.
