Lasell women’s volleyball earns second consecutive sweep in win vs Saint Joe's

The women’s volleyball team extended its win streak to six games this week by sweeping the Saint Joseph’s (Maine) Monks. This win propels the team even further in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) standings, as the team currently sits at 12-3.

The Lasers were anchored by their defense this game. The most electric moment in the match occurred when junior libero Maddie Caro deflected a stray ball through the basketball hoop on the other side of the court, leaving the spectators speechless.

After the game, junior middle blocker Morgan Bogli spoke about what she felt impacted the game the most.

“I think it was really just a team effort,” said Bogli. [Coach Vautrin] gave us a game plan, and we just followed him up on [it] the whole match.”

After the match ended, Lasell President Eric Turner shared his thoughts on watching the student-athletes play.

“It’s energizing!” Turner gloated. “When I’m involved with the students, no matter the activity, I feel excited. It makes me happy [that] we’re making sure that students have a good quality experience.”

When asked about his favorite moment of the game, Turner exclaimed, “Oh, certainly, the win!”
