Senior Week is a long-standing and cherished tradition at Lasell University, organized annually by the Senior Class Committee. This week-long series of events offers graduating seniors the opportunity to spend an extra week on campus before they part ways, creating unforgettable memories with their classmates. It provides a unique time for seniors to reflect on their college experience, bid farewell to faculty and staff, and celebrate the bonds they’ve formed over the course of their four years at Lasell.
In the past, Senior Week has cost students over $400. However, this year, one of the committee’s key goals was to reduce the financial burden on seniors. To achieve this, the committee worked tirelessly to negotiate favorable deals with vendors, seek out generous donations, and fundraise, ensuring the cost would be more affordable for everyone involved.
In addition to the historically-low pricing, the class of 2025’s Senior Week will feature unique events that have not been included in the programming before. Beginning on May 5, attending seniors will be going to Top Golf in Canton and The Greatest Bar in Boston. The committee is also organizing Boomer’s Brunch and Carnival, an opportunity to enjoy a meal and entertainment with fellow students and faculty members on campus.
The week will conclude on May 8 with a “Final Voyage,” the traditional boat cruise that provides a full-circle experience to connect seniors back to the same trip they may have taken during Welcome Weekend of their first year at Lasell.
Senior Class President Madalyn Scully says that this work couldn’t be done without committee members. “Senior Week would not be possible with the support from the committee as well as our dedicated supervisor, Shawanna Watson,” Scully said.
During the planning process, Watson ensured the week will be filled with fun activities and affordable for the students it is geared towards.
“My goal, along with the committee, was to make sure we planned events that students were genuinely excited about and wanted to see happen during their final week at Lasell,” Watson said. “As an alum, it was especially important to me to introduce exciting new events while also finding ways to make the week more affordable and accessible for all students.”
Sarah Mendes, elementary education major and senior class vice president, has appreciated her time as a part of the committee and recognizes the impact that the committee has made on her.
“Being part of the Class Committee is a great opportunity to collaborate with fellow seniors, while also offering students the chance to build meaningful connections, refine event planning skills, and engage with the theme of connected learning that Lasell has instilled in us,” Mendes said. “Through this experience, students not only contribute to creating memorable events like Senior Week, but also gain valuable hands-on knowledge that aligns with the collaborative and growth-focused environment Lasell encourages.”
If students have questions regarding Senior Week events, registration or pricing, contact Madalyn Scully, Sarah Mendes, or Shawanna Watson with any questions.
